The  list of nominees for 2013 gives
British Columbia Amateur Boxing
a good cross section of boxers and
builders throughout the decades.

*For the junior/youth category
we have boxers from the seventies,
and eighties that include some 
National medal winners, and 
boxers that have earned the
prestigious "Jimmy Symes Award"
for excellence in boxing.
Some of them may join current
junior=/youth inductees:
Alan Brown and Tony Duffy.


George Nepper, the founder of 
the Newcastle Boxing Club in
Nanaimo in the sixties was also
involved in the formation of the
Nanaimo Boxing Club in 1971.
Before the Newcastle club, he 
was involved with the boxing
club in Chemainus that saw the
Nepper brothers train with the 
likes of Skimp Williams and 
Danny Daniels.




  RON WHALLEY  is a respected ring official who
was very active before his passing.  He worked 
with Bert Lowes and Fred Fuller, and was there
for club shows and tournaments in BC, 
provincial tournaments, nation







VIC MURDOCH:
 
  is a long time boxing official
but he is also a golden gloves boxing alumnus.  Vic was one of the early
Golden Gloves champions in the forties and is one of the few BC boxers
to win a Golden Gloves title in Seattle.



Stan Smith was involved in administrative matters for boxing in the Sixties
and also one of the East Vancouver Optimist boxing club officers. Later he 
would serve as a director with the BC Amateur Boxing Association
  JIM GALLAGHER, former coach of the Cloverdale boxing club and also served in otherareas of boxing for Boxing BC
.




GORDIE LAWSON
began his boxing 
journey with the
Firefighters boxing
club in Vancouver
in September and
in his first year of 
activity, he would
earn a silver gloves
championship in
1968.  
Lawson could be
called a warrior's
warrior who always
came to do battle
regardless of the
skills and experience
of his opponents.
